Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Jubilee Primary School Website: www.jubileeparkprimary.co.uk.

This website is run by Jubilee Primary School and supported by Innovative IT Solutions. We are committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, in line with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. This means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen

  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard

  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader, including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver

We have made the website text as clear and simple as possible to understand.

The website has been designed to be usable by as many people as possible, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive or neurological disabilities.

We aim for this website to meet Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, which are the international standards for accessible web content.

AbilityNet provides guidance on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible is this website?

An accessibility widget is available on the left-hand side of the website. This allows users to personalise their experience, including:

  • highlighting headings and links

  • adjusting font weight and letter spacing

  • using a dyslexia‑friendly font

  • changing line height and colour contrast

  • using a reading guide

  • displaying a larger cursor

These features are optional and are designed to support individual needs. They do not replace the requirement for the website itself to meet accessibility standards.

We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software

Innovative IT Solutions is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA, due to the issues listed below.

Non-accessible content

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some iframes on the website do not have descriptive titles, which can affect screen reader users. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2.

  • Some PDF documents published after 23 September 2018 are essential to providing services but do not fully meet accessibility standards.

Disproportionate burden

Some PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 are essential to providing services and do not meet accessibility standards for a range of reasons.

Content outside the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Most older PDF and Word documents do not meet accessibility standards. For example, they may not be structured in a way that is accessible to screen readers.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services, such as newsletters.

Some policy documents are not written in plain English or Welsh. These documents are exempt from the regulations as they are not required for active administrative processes. We therefore do not currently plan to make these documents accessible.

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams, as live video is exempt from the accessibility regulations.
